All of the products we use are non-toxic and perfectly safe for pets and children. We offer specialized treatments for pet urine and odor removal. Since our system uses the best cleaning products, a very high PSI, and hot water (all pre-mixed in our van; we never hook up to your water source!) the regular cleaning will oftentimes take care of pet problems that are less serious. How To Maintain Your Carpeting

When it comes to maintaining your carpet, one of the most critical areas of focus is the traffic areas. If ground in soil is not removed on a regular basis, the traffic areas will begin to wear excessively. The dirt is extremely abrasive against the fibers of the carpet as you walk back and forth on it. The second area of focus, of course, is spot removal. You must react to “danger” spots immediately. Red wine, Red beverages, urine, blood, etc. can cause a permanent stain if not treated immediately. Listed below are the steps that you must take to properly maintain your carpeting.

Vacuuming

Vacuum your carpet often. Once or twice a week at least. Vacuuming removes the sharp soil that can cut and slice the fiber causing premature wear. Much of this soil is not visible to the eye. Vacuum before the carpet looks soiled. Remove any loose particles such as loose food, leaves, pieces of crayon, bugs, etc. as these items can cause a spot on the carpet.

Professional Cleaning

As a general rule, professional cleaning by a professional, certified firm should take place about once per year. For extremely heavy traffic areas, cleaning may be required more often. A proper professional cleaning will not leave a sticky residue behind and can be done as many times per year as needed. MANY STAINS RESIST WARRANTIES THAT REQUIRE PROFESSIONAL CLEANING EVERY YEAR. Professional cleaning removes the damaging soil in traffic areas that vacuuming has not been able to remove. WARNING: UNINFORMED CARPET CLEANERS MAY VOID YOUR WARRANTY.

Spot Removal and Interim Cleaning

Immediate spot removal is key to a clean carpet. Great care also must be taken in how spot cleaning is performed. When a carpet is new or has sufficient protectors on it, plain tap water will remove many spots. However, for those spots that will not move easily with water, you must use a spot cleaner. Select a spot cleaner that is recommended by the carpet manufacturer or you’re trained, certified professional cleaner. Most spot removers that are purchased over the counter leave too much soap residue and can cause yellowing. Avoid using foam carpet cleaners or any product that is not made specifically for carpets.

Apply spot cleaner sparingly to a white terry cloth and gently massage the spot, causing it to transfer into the cloth. Never pour spot cleaner directly on the carpet. If the product that you are using seems to cause the spot to re-soil over a few weeks period, discontinue use. Any spot that you are not able to remove, and for pet urine or feces, call us immediately.

Before Your Carpeting Is Cleaned

Please remove breakables and knick-knacks from tables and other pieces that will be moved by our crew. If there is a large number of small items such as boxes, magazines, shoes, etc. please remove these items if you want the carpet cleaned in these areas.
Arrange for pets and children to be away from the area that we are cleaning, and away from all equipment, hoses, etc.

After Your Carpeting Is Cleaned

Be careful walking from carpet to hard surfaces. Floors can be very slippery.
Keep pets and children off of the carpet for at least 6 hours.
Remove blocks and tabs 24 hours after carpet is dry
Vacuum carpet anytime after a 24-hour period.

Pre-spray:

A preconditioning agent is applied to emulsify the traffic area soil and general spots.

Pre-spot:

Special solutions made for specific spots are applied to each spot to break it down and prepare it for extraction.

Truck-mounted Hot Water Extraction:

The carpet is thoroughly rinsed with a powerful truck-mounted system. The rinse agent is flushed through the pile and is immediately vacuumed with the powerful suction of our state-of-the-art truck-mounted machinery. Since the soil is pre-emulsified and loosened, the pressure used is lower, therefore not over wetting the carpet.

Neutralizer:

Every carpet that we clean is pH balanced so that there is no sticky residue left behind. This treatment is used as a rinse or applied after the rinse depending on the soiling condition.

Deodorizer:

A mild deodorizer is added to the rinse agent. Our deodorizers are not overbearing. The deodorizer will simply add a pleasant light scent.

Specialty Spotting:

We stock specialty spot removal products in our vans to attempt removal of urine, red dye spots, yellowing, gum, etc.

Stain Sheild Carpet Protector

When the carpeting is made, it has two protective properties. One is a “dye blocker” or “stain resist” property. This is simply a clear dye that fills in the empty dye sites so that it is difficult for a spill or spot to penetrate the fiber. The second is a “soil resistor” like Scotchguard or Dupont Teflon. This is a product that is sprayed on the yarn and baked at a high temperature. This helps to resist common dry soil and to act as a barrier between the spill and the dye blocker. After a period of about 2 to 3 years, depending on traffic, the soil resistor wears off and needs to be reapplied. Also, the cleaning can remove many of these products. After applying Stain Sheild to the carpet, more dry soil will be removed with vacuuming, and most spots will be removed with just water.

Carpet Re-Stretching & Repair

After a period of years, depending on soiling, traffic, and installation, the carpet may need to be restretched. If you have “buckles” in your carpet, we recommend carpet restretching. We use a power stretcher to get your carpet as tight or tighter than when it was new. If you have holes, seams coming apart, or any other damage to your carpet, our carpet repair professionals can be provided excellent service to you.

Urine Odor Removal

Our Minor Odor Treatment is NOT GUARANTEED. We will saturate affected areas with an enzyme. It usually helps the odor somewhat and is a good alternative to a costly Major Odor Treatment.

Major Odor Treatment: This procedure IS GUARANTEED. It requires more involved steps but is required at times when the problem is severe.
